We can take brands further with augmented reality, we can tell their stories in a dynamic, interactive and fun way. We can generate added value to their proposals and make the brand deeper and impactful

Menudas Pájaras | Augmented Reality

Menudas Pajaras (eng: tremendous birds) try to break sexual taboos with a fun theatrical show, in the filter what I want to capture is, the further you move away from the brand, the more taboos you have and the more censored (pixelated) you are. In order to be good with yourself you need to break those taboos, and one way to do it is to participate in one of their shows to break them. When you have already gone you can say that you no longer have taboos or self-censorship (pixels).

Its brand has been created by Colectivo Verbena and I was able to contribute my grain of sand with this augmented reality filter in which I tried to tell the story behind the brand in a dynamic and fun way.

You can try the filter on the Instagram profile of @colectivoverbena.

Social distance | Augmented Reality

Social Distance is a project by the artist Argider Aparicio, focused on the pandemic time in which we could only be with the people around us at a distance of 1.5m. He initially made a personal family tree where the photographs of his family could only be seen and understood from more than 1.5 meters away.
+ info about his project on his website.

I had worked with Argider on other projects and he contacted me to expand his family pandemic album, involving anyone who wants to contribute from home with their photo or video, recognizing themselves from 1.5 meters away with the screen, having to move the device of your nose to recognize it. I have generated a dot-screen duotone that varies depending on the distance between the person and the device.

Utopian flaws | Augmented Reality

I have created this filter for the convenience of the communication of my personal project "Utopian flaws", with this filter it gave many facilities so that people can directly access the publication we were talking about to participate in the debate and leave their comment in a comfortable way. This filter creates a blur that generates a gradient, linked to the oneiric and dream world that we propose.
+ info about Utopian flaws.

I have created a blur background to be able to make the text that we put on it visible, you can also attach a design with transparencies so that the background can continue to be seen, we can achieve a story with its own music, with your own background video and the best... Anyone can click and it takes you directly to the video you have in the background.

You can try the filter on my Instagram profile @carlos.munnoz.

Quick wallpainting test | Augmented Reality

I create this filter quickly (in 8 hours) to demonstrate with a practical example the possibilities that could be applied to the virtual murals world. First I create a water effect with some simple effects, and most of the filter is based on just the wallpainting photo, from it I extracted an element (dolphin), I created its body in 3D and applied that 2D texture, I created an opening for the mouth (it is poorly done and fast, the correct way would be to generate some bones to doesn't break the 3D mesh) that is linked to the opening of the mouth of the person who uses the filter.

With the image they provide us, I generated an HDRI (360º image as a context), finally we linked the dolphin to our head, this proposal could have been taken further, for example with interaction linked from our face to the dolphin actions or its environment. This proposal has been made quickly without looking for a good definition, just as an example, in fact below we can see the photograph that they provided us (the photograph isn't mine).
I always recommend that the stories be told in a more conceptual way or at least with a twist, avoiding being as literal as this wallpainting proposal.
